This bug is still valid under Hardy. It occurs when I shutdown the jack
server when started on a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 soundcard,
or when I close Mixxx set up on the same soundcard.

Installing timidity allows playing of midi files but it should play them
out of the box or warn the user.

I have just read
MIDI, unfortunately is not an open file format, so Ubuntu does not
support it by default.
Ubuntu should then inform the user the reason why it cannot play midi
format files.
