Please, don't ignore this bug. I have another which seems related

Try to install the linux-ubuntu-modules package for your kernel, eg
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-11-generic or linux-ubuntu-
modules-2.6.22-11-386
It looks like the snd-hda-intel module was moved there.

I have the same problem. M2NBP-VM worked with Feisty. Loaded Gutsy and
it doesn't work.
I did find the file /lib/modules/2.6.22-10-generic/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-
intel/snd-hda-intel.ko. I see using lsmod

I haven't had any troubles with audio myself on Gutsy except for this.
I suspected perhaps it was the linux-image-2.6.22-10-generic in my apt-
proxy cache, so I deleted the package from my apt-proxy cache on another
server and from my local apt cache. I then reinstalled and had the same

The module does seem to exist for me (and works for me);
for me I can see the file at:
/lib/modules/2.6.22-10-generic/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-intel/snd-hda-
intel.ko
I've heard of other people having audio problems on gutsy; but certainly for me
the module is being loaded
and it is working
