Finally fixed in Oneiric (after the next debian-installer upload, at any
rate) by merging this upstream change:
netcfg (1.66) unstable; urgency=low
[ Colin Watson ]
* Strip trailing dots from domain when writing to /etc/hosts
(LP: #255117).
[ Gaudenz Steinlin ]
* Include WPA support.
This error still occurs in Kubuntu- and Ubuntu-10.10-Beta versions of
mini.iso and alternate.iso.
It's still impossible to install via WPA2-WLAN using one of these CD
images.

Isn't ubiquity the LiveCD installer? This bug is for debian-installer ie
text-mode install from Alternate CDs. AFAIK WPA does work on Live CDs.
