I have implemented the requested solution in the linked branch, but I
have to say it's looking *very* weird imo... We need a designer to look
at it and decide if this is really what we want.

I added an illustration how the shape is changed currently and how I
would expect item to keep its shape throughout the drag. In this image
there is no content in those container items. But when in real life
there is app surface/ screenshot there the reshaping of the item looks
sometimes pretty

ok, i see it now. It currently appears to change perspective ~1/2 down
the swipeso just before the app is finished swiping off the spread
completely it is the most noticeable. strangely, i think i kind of liked
the fact that was happening :)
