Cedric, just downloaded from that repository and tested with an old
image and seems to work with no problems, ethernet and sound also worked
ok and fast.
the only thing that is missing is a link in the gnome menu, as it
appeared in feisty

can i get more info? i added it, but still when i type in "apt-get
install vmware-player" i get the same error
"The following packages have unmet dependencies:
vmware-player: Depends: vmware-player-kernel-modules but it is not going to
be installed
E: Broken packages"
i did an
vmware-player 2.0.1 and updated linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22 can be
found in my ppa
just add this to your sources.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/cschieli/ubuntu gutsy restricted multiverse
then
apt-get install vmware-player
