I have investigated similar issue on krillin. In case of krillin hw clock is set at the factory to 1st of January 2014, 0:00am. This causes first boot (out of the box experience) to last 2mins 40 seconds before welcome wizard appears, with over 2minutes of it being white screen with bootloader l
