Public bug reported:

I have an HP notebook, one hdd, with ub 13.04 and win 8 dual boot with EFI. I 
freshly installed ub 14.04 over the old one partition. 
At the startup i got that grub error message.
First I tried with boot-repair http://paste.ubuntu.com/7951398/ , then manually 
with a complete purge and reinstall of grub-efi-amd64, plus grub-install, 
dpkg-reconfigure grub-efi-amd64 and update grub2, as seen in others post.
None of that worked.
I found that if I change boot order with efibootmgr from hdd to ubuntu 
temporarily (-o) from livedvd, the startup goes well; when I try to do that 
permanently (-n) that doesn't work. I post some more informations:
