so it's possible that a fix may be in one and not the other yet. It
would be helpful to test 3.13.11.9.

Before installing 3.18, I tested 3.14.4 utopic

and the bug was not fixed.

v3.18 kernel[0].

How are you shutting down the system? Are you using the task bar
button, running 'sudo poweroff' from a terminal, or are you using the
power switch?
