I was using amule&experienced some unwanted closing of the program; so
made up my mind to lunch it via terminal using " amule --sync"(I do use
Ubuntu7.10&gnome 2.20.1); I got this:

I got the diff which fixed this bug in 2.2.0 from upstream, but the code
had changed significantly and isn't valid for 2.1.3. Fortunately this is
fixed in Hardy, which will be released in about 3 weeks.
Closing the Gutsy task as won't fix.

This was fixed a long time ago in trunk. It's fixed now in Hardy, so
marking as fixed.
I'm creating a task for Gutsy, as this is an important bug which affects
lots of users. I'll try to get a diff from upstream to fix this in
Gutsy.

I have Ubuntu Gutsy on AMD Opteron 146 and running amule from the main
apt repositories and I have the very same proble, I cah copy the output
of running amule on the console:
amule
Initialising aMule
Checking if there is an instance already running...
No other instances are running.
Loading temp
Same here, backtrace info differ

I can confirm the same problem here. I'm using ubuntu gutsy, amd64
version, and hadn't this problem with feisty...
