There is an update on this? I'm having this issue and the 'HPe'/'HP'
solution seems ... buy a USB multiple monitor adaptor ... to plug in the
dock and solve the dock issue.

Has there been any update on this? I'm still seeing this issue across a
number of distributions, but specifically on the Ubuntu based side with
Linux Mint 18.3

The issue didn't occur anymore. It was fixed by a new Ubuntu version, I
think it was 14.10.
