You are absolutely right. My issue had to do with being old and rather
dim and not seeing the demonic kill switch (hidden cleverly by the
Certified for Microsoft XP sticker). Your issue is an interesting and
legitimate bug. Anyway, anyone else wandering Malone who has trouble
with T60 wi
(Unless you are encountering this problem in the installer, which
neither your comment on this bug nor your e-mail to me indicated
clearly.)
I suspect Adam's problem is because the Breezy live CD forced netcfg to
be noninteractive as far as possible, and Dapper and later live CDs
don't use netcfg
Paul, your problem has nothing to do with this bug. This bug is very
specifically about a certain problem in the installer when the kill
switch is enabled. It is not about more general questions regarding
problems with kill switches.

I have a similar problem on the IBM T60 Laptop. Aparently the Levono
company extended the function key control into the Windows environment.
This is Ok until you want to switch video or if you turn off your
wireless card. I am struggling to turn it back on.
Anyone with any good ideas on this one
