Public bug reported:

The 2014-10-17.1 Alternate image for PPC runs through the installation and 
appears to allow creation of an encrypted LVM.  However, when the installed 
system boots, it cannot get past unlocking the disk.  The error is "cryptsetup:
failed, bad password or options?"  What should have happened is that the 
password is accepted and the disk is unencrypted.
