Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-numpy

Version: 1:1.0.3-1ubuntu2

Depends: python2.4, python2.5, python-central (>= 0.5.8), python (<<
2.6), python (>= 2.4), atlas3-base | lapack3 | liblapack.so.3,
atlas3-base | refblas3 | libblas.so.3, libc6 (>= 2.6), libg2c0 (>=
1:3.4.4-5), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.2-20070516), python-numpy-dev (=
1:1.0.3-1ubuntu2)

Because python-numpy already uses python-central AND depends on
python>=2.4,<<2.6, it's counter-productive to require both versions to
be installed.

Removing the dependencies on python2.4 and python2.5 would allow either
version of python to be installed, instead of requiring both.

** Affects: python-numpy (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
