it lacks the information we need to investigate the problem, as
described in the previous comments. Please reopen it if you can give us
the missing information, and don't hesitate to submit bug reports in the
future. To reopen
hal itself runs as normal user and thus a complete crash is a kernel
bug. We need the kernel crash message for checking/fixing this, can you
please attach /var/log/kern.log right after a crash? Do you see any oops
report on the console? ANy chance you could make a photo of this and
attach it here?
