I experience this problem running Freya on an intel graphics stack.
However, I use the Scratch text editor a lot. It is configured to "hide
the cursor while typing." If I type a little bit in the text editor to
hide the cursor, the next time I move the cursor, it reappears as
normal.

touchpad. You can still move the cursor with the touchpad, but you have
to use the buttons below the touchpad to click.
To fix the touchpad issue open dconf-editor and go to /org/gnome
/settings-daemon/peripherals/touchpad and

Same problem here. After a dragdrop the mouse arrow gets corrupted, in my case
the pointer turns in two little arrows and only the left one is effective. The
workaround of opening typing in scratch works but when you drag some icon the

Same problem here in ElementaryOS Freya. I have an Acer aspire E5-571G-
38VF. I use a Synaptics touchpad I guess and a generic usb mouse.

I have this problem in Xubuntu 14.10 sometimes when dragging files in
Thunar. I found an interesting work-around that works for me. When
Parole media player is open with a video file (can be paused) if I drag
the corrupted cursor into the video area it fixes the cursor. The
resolution change fix
The #7 workaround for Xubuntu 14.10 works for me.
A few weeks ago I added a new user to Xubuntu, and that user didn't get
the mouse corruption at all. But they do now - for the past few days.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what caused the change, or exactly when it
happened.

Workaround in Xubuntu 14.10:
1. Open Display in Settings Manager.
2. Change resolution to some other value and click Apply.
2. Change back to previous resolution and click Apply.

(2) change selection in the drop-down list below Scale all window contents to

Judging by the photo of the corrupted cursor, I think I have the same
problem, and it occurs when I drag and drop a file - the cursor becomes
corrupted after the drop. However, I'm using Xubuntu 14.10 (upgraded
from 14.04).
