I haven't been using (xu)ubuntu before, but I've just tried 14.04 live
cd and the problem exists there too. I've also tried 12.04 live cd too,
but pavucontrol crashes there, so I'm unable to check.
I've been using SLC6.X (RHEL) so far and I had it working there. I'm 98%
sure that I had to install
