Update Manager quietly crashes
To manage notifications
running gksudo update-manager launches the GUI and when clicking on the
Install Now, it then asks for the password, this does not happen with
it being launched either by cron / daemon or selected via menu. Using
gksudo update-manager does update the system.

I cannot reproduce this on my laptop for manually trying to reproduce
with Menu -- System Tools -- Software Updater. I have not waited long
enough for it to manually show up by cron. I clicked install and had it
successfully install updates.
