One more note:

If the software requires a reboot, then the user should be notified and
given the opportunity to:

(a) postpone rebooting with another notification at a later time (minutes, 
hours, days); or
(b) postpone rebooting indefinitely.

Either way, systems should not need to interrupt user workflow to
indicate there are no problems. Workflow interruptions should only
happen when intervention is necessary.
