I admit I mainly read the section that you linked. What is "that" that
the article covers?
I do see a section on bisecting Ubuntu git trees. That might be what
I'm looking for, but I'm still confused as to how I would figure out my
good and bad starting points.

I wasn't able to bisect this with the mainline builds because I'm having
trouble finding a build where this issue happens. I tried 5 before
giving up. Can you please point me to the mainline build which the
ubuntu kernel is built upon?

Thanks Christopher! I think this is too time consuming for it to be
really worth it for me, but I've never done a git bisect before. So I
plan on checking it out. We'll see.

kernel 3.16 to 3.17.4 in order to identify the last bad commit, followed
