I'm trying to use my Sansa e250 player in Lucid alpha 3. It currently
detects the player correctly (where in Karmic it would print an error),
but it only displays a small number of songs (about 20) from the player
in rhythmbox, and it doesn't play any of the songs, or upload songs to
the player.

Well apparently the server mangled my uploads because when I try to
download the urls below, I get gibberish. I simply right clicked the
files and tar and gzipped them, then uploaded them to launchpad.

I am unable to use my Cowon D2 media player in MTP USB mode with
Rhythmbox. The Cowon D2 media player works just fine as long as
Rhythmbox is not started. This is still a problem in 9.10. Please fix
for Lucid.

One other thing that may be coming into play here. I think that the
Cowon D2 may be very sensitive to a slight USB undervoltage. On one
machine it routinely disappears after mounting (on many distros), while
it's OK on other machines, and since I've also had erratic problems
booting that machine fr

I think D2 is an Universal Mass Storage device (UMS for short).
It does have an MTP mode too if you need it.
Having said that the UMS mode is probably clashing with the MTP mode.
You might have to do some foo to disable the ums if you want mtp.
Same thing happens with sansa devices.
