You have been subscribed to a public bug: In Raspbian Jessie, running Midori (or any WebKit1-based browser) and browsing to any JS-heavy website quickly causes a browser crash.
In Raspbian Wheezy, recompiling the webkit package from source (to get v2.4.7 of libwebkitgtk-1.0-0, as the Pi Foundation provide only an updated build of libwebkitgtk-3.0-0) results in similar behaviour. The bug can be resolved by disabling the JIT at compile time. The issue is discussed in Debian bug #651636 (https://bugs.debian.org /cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=651636), but they're reluctant to fix it in upstream as it may be only an issue for ARMv6. Can you please apply my patch shown at the bottom of the Debian bug report to the Raspbian flavour of the source package, at least in Jessie? (I have not verified whether this bug affects the Pi Foundation-supplied binaries or not. The bug does not affect v1.8.1 of libwebkit-1.0-0, which AFAIK is still the official Raspbian Wheezy version.) ** Affects: webkitgtk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Webkit JS JIT crashes with default settings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400911 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
