I also have this problem, with a fresh install on a new laptop (Lenovo
Flex 2 15): very limited power management options as pictured.

Launching xfce4-power-manager-settings from the console is equivalent to
running from the start menu (no suspend options). The only way to get
the full set of options to appear is to launch it through sudo, and then
the power manager warning appears as described in #4 .

This is still a problem.
Having just launched Power Manager from [Start Menu] Preferences, Power
Manager, xfce4-power-manager launches
However, there are no suspend options offered against the Laptop Lid
configuration, either in the 'On Battery' or 'Plugged In' columns. Only
'Switch off display'
Any news? Did you report the remaining issue on the upstream bug
tracker?

So, the initial problem is now completely gone and does not reappear
after reboot, right? For the remaining issue I suggest that you forward
it upstream by filing a report on the Xfce bug tracker. Thanks in

Running the power manager as...
gksudo xfce4-power-manager-settings
...causes a notification that the power manager is not running (and a
prompt to launch it) and then when the settings window is launched, all
the relevant options are in fact there (presumably having overridden
permissions issues
Wish I could fully recreate. I don't understand the circumstances which
prevented these options from being available in the first place, but
wanted to report the bug so that others can gather information when they
experience the same thing.
