Public bug reported: gtk+3.0's default theme is now Adwaita, and the testsuite contains a set of 'reftests' to check the rendering of various widgets. These tests in some cases rely on adwaita's icons, which are shipped in adwaita-icon- theme. It's therefore a build dependency of gtk+3.0 and so needs to be in main.
For the Ubuntu usecase we have copied the icons immediately necessary over to our humanity-icon-theme package so there is no current need to have adwaita-icon-theme as a runtime dependency. We *do* want to move from gnome-icon-theme to adwaita-icon-theme for the Ubuntu desktop, but in order to do that we have to replicate the split that gnome-icon-theme has currently, otherwise we will add just under 10MB to the image instead of filtering out duplicate (with humanity) icons. The MIR is on the understanding that there will be no runtime dependency on the Ubuntu desktop image until that split is done. All depends and build-depends are in main. Packaging is clean. Binary package is arch:all and builds fine. No bugs in LP. Desktop team will maintain. ** Affects: adwaita-icon-theme (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1410174 Title: [MIR] adwaita-icon-theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adwaita-icon-theme/+bug/1410174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
