I changed the bug status to Confirmed. Here is partial description in my case: computer: HP ZBook 15 Couple of day ago I had a dual-booting configuration: Ubuntu 15.04 MATE + Windows 7 . Both 64 bit. I decided to replace Ubuntu 15.04 MATE by Ubuntu 15.10 MATE. I did a clean new installation

Unfortunately the pastebins have been removed by now; I'm unfortunately stuck trying to make an educated guess for the moment. Do you also have a Windows boot manager entry in your boot options, besides ubuntu? What seems to me is like you've possibly installed Ubuntu in EFI mode when Windows
