It is still an issue! There is no way to use printable media with any
Linux distribution.

Colors seems ok altough there are small white stripes visible on ip3000,
but positioning is way wrong.
I used Gimp, with built in CD template and then tried to print it.
1. Paper Type -> CD, all other settings untouched
Result: image printed one third left off the center
2. Paper Type -> CD, Pap

I've tried to print with Inkscape and The GIMP. With gutenprint 5.0.1
packages, backported from Gutsy to Feisty, C
