I have a problem with same symptoms with the Intel HD Graphics 5500 (Broadwell GT2) on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 running Ubuntu 15.04. Updating to kernel 4.0 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ fixed screen rotation, so the issue might have been patched upstream already. --
