I see on my utopic the package seems to be conflicting correctly (I mean
the official one).
Trying to install the debian one forces the removal.
Why the dpkg log shows it if it is installed without the deb file?

I don't know. I think more investigation is needed before an SRU though.
Part of the SRU process is coming up with a reproducible test case and showing
that the proposed patch indeed solves the problem.

I don't think this is worth an SRU, as noted in comment 9 of the aforementioned
bug, upstream already have the following in their packaging:
