Public bug reported: One of the options in Ubuntu when creating a user is to give that user no password. On the login screen, one simply clicks a button to log such a user in. On the lock screen, however, one is required to enter a password. Entering no password doesn't work, and entering a random password doesn't work. The user without a password is stuck on the lock screen.
I was able to reproduce this issue on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. It's a fairly serious issue since the default system behavior is to automatically lock after a few minutes. An emergency workaround is to click the Change User button to return to the main login screen, and then proceed from there. ** Affects: unity-greeter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1430246 Title: Impossible to unlock lock screen for user without password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter/+bug/1430246/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
