I can confirm this. It also doesn't accept the -h option and other ones as well. ncal -h works but cal -h errors. Cal seems pretty broken, lots of open bugs on this for many years but no fixes seem to be coming. Let me know if I can help troubleshoot this further if anyone is interested in
