I runned:
kdesudo "gparted /dev/sdb"

/dev/sdb is a usb memory stick with only one partition (sdb) which is formatted 
as fat32.
In gparted I selected the partition (which was not mounted) and select from the 
context menu "check" and afterwards apllied the operation.

Gparted reproducibly crashes on applying this change.
