Thank you for responding, Tyler. Kubuntu 14.04.3 LTS KDE 4.13.3 Kernel 3.13.0-3-generic As far as I recall, 5 months after the issue, it seemed to happen after a batch of security updates. I always keep my OS fully patched with all recommended updates which is what has made this even more
