Public bug reported: Since gutsy tribe5 I have been able to use the compiz effects (both the normal ubuntu default effects and the fancy stuff like desktop cube etc). Everything have been working fine before, but after the last synaptic upgrade none of the desktop effects work anymore. When I went into preferences::appearance I can see "extra effects" is checked. Then I tried checking effects "none" instead. Now if I try to switch back to "extra" I get this error message saying "cannot enable compiz" and it doesn't say anything about why it doesn't work.
See attached screenshot for error details... remember, compiz with cube and everything worked perfectly on this machine just a week ago. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ubuntu fails to enable desktop effects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144126 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
