I have a Lenovo B50 with RTL8723BE and have the same problem. I had the problem
with 14.04.
It went away with 14.10, but it has come back with 15.04. It also happens with
Opensuse 13.2 on the same machine.

The same behaviour (problem) on my Lenovo M30-70 with rtl8723be wifi.
I am using Kernel 3.19.0-17-generic on Ubuntu 15.04, latest Bios.
I tried many workarounds from

i can confirm this issue on linux 3.19, the fix i found for 3.16 is not working
(it freezes the system), at least on a live session
i have a G50-30 system, the latest bios as of yesterday
i also noticed very poor performance when it is working
this is the script i used on ubuntu 12.04.2 w/ 3.16 (
YAFU, as that is a completely different chipset, please file a new report via a

Hello. I have a Ralink with RT2561/RT61 chip. In Kubuntu 15.04 my
connection is very unstable using NetworkManager, but with Wicd my
connection is stable. Could you try Wicd? The problem is that in Kubuntu
15.04 is not possible uninstall "network-manager" because it also
