I have this problem too. Something strange is that it works on an Ubuntu
installation but not on Kubuntu... it has to be confirmed though.

The problem still exists in the final version.
openoffice.org-base is installed. Version: 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5
However, the problem is gone when I disable the desktop effects.

Do you still have this problem on the final version of Ubuntu 7.10
OpenOffice 2.3.0? Also do you have openoffice.org-base installed?
