The last couple of times I've had this problem, my computer has beeped
at me when I resumed from suspend. It was a sequence of seven short,
quick beeps. I'm going to look this code up per my BIOS version and see
what it tells me.

This was a bug in gutsy as well---if I remember correctly, a fix was
supposedly committed, but apparently it didn't fix it for all of us
because I'm STILL having this problem.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04, and It doesn't work either. In past versions the
system didn't respond at all after resuming from pause. Now, I got the X
working and the mouse too, but still don't have any response from
keyboard. The only way to make things work again is rebooting with the
mouse from GD
