Hi Dann, the memtest resulted in: 'Pass Complete, No Errors'. as for the sed binary, that is beyond my understanding, skimming through a fast online search resulted in no useful info on how to apply it. hopefully this helps. just so you know I am running Lubuntu. Yours sincerely, Brandon

I'm unable to reproduce. From the terminal log, I see that it is reporting an illegal instruction in sed: /var/lib/dpkg/info/grub-pc.postinst: line 368: 22257 Illegal instruction sed -i -e 's/^\(GRUB_TIMEOUT=\)\([0-9][0-9]*\)/\1\2/' $tmp_default_grub Which is strange indeed. Is this
