Public bug reported: Scan Geometry is set to U.S. Letter Mode setting resolution is 200 When saved as PDF the resulting "Page Size" is 22.89 inches x 30 inches. Before saving, this can be corrected before saving by, when looking at the scanned document, using menu item Edit | Properties and setting resolution to match. Eg "200" Problem is that this must be done every time. Default is back to 72 DPI. The DPI of the resulting PDF should default to the same DPI as the scan unless intentionally changed by the user.
