Yeah, you are right. The bashism which originally motivated the bug is
now valid code.
But to summarize: lightdm now runs
Logon works just fine just thought that this dependency is very odd.

Bash's built-in syntax check when sourcing files, which also works
recursively, came in very handy when fixing that bug, and the dash
