Unfortunately, it is not usable, neither on Windows or Linux, since on Linux it will stop reading the any finger after the first try. I've attached a screenshot, and an ltrace log, truncated at the beginning: http://paste2.org/PbOD2y6a . Do you need also gdb to find out the exact problem? I've tried with several versions of Ubuntu: {10,12,14}.04 LTS, 15.04 - all will fail not read just once, it may be a driver error or a endless loop/deadlock.
