I still get the same error in Ubuntu 16.04.1. Also installing the newest
version from here

does not help.
But it works when I use the window .exe with wine

This issue is regarding a gcc optimization as described in [1].
I will submit a SRU for xenial. Ubuntu 16.10 should have the fix
already.

Bump. Still an issue, and since I can't login to the official IBM cloud
anymore, which I guess can be considered as "official" as far as
sametime goes, please revert the changes in libmeanwhile1-1.0.2-5..

Bump, same problem on Ubuntu 15.04 "vivid", libmeanwhile1 1.0.2-5
failed to connect to Sametime server "login verification down or
unavailable".
As with @Franz noted this was resolved by using library from 14.04 "trusty",
current version 1.0.2-4
