Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 15.04, but this problem happened in Ubuntu 14.10 too, AFAIK.
The problem does not happen on Ubuntu 14.04. Using the US (international, with dead keys) keyboard layout, I should be able to write é by pressing the single quote ( ' ) key, after that, the e key. Whenever I do this in Ubuntu 15.04, the 'dead' key is not dead; instead it immediately prints the ´ sign. That means that when I try to write é, I'll get: ´e. This happens for other letter combinations, too, for instance: ´o, ´a, ¨e, ¨u. I found out that I can type é by pressing AltGr + e, but I'd rather have the dead keys working again. I found this bug hard to report using ubuntu-bug or apport-bug, so let me know if I can help you by running some commands. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455986 Title: US (international, with dead keys) keyboard layout does not print accented letters: keys are not dead To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1455986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
