I am not 100% sure but I believe this has something todo with gtk's new
tooltip implemetation (if you switch beween tabs eclipse diplays
tooltips, and this fails sometimes). I don't have these chrashes with
eclipse 3.3!

I spent a few time trying to replicate the bug. I just noticed that the crash
occurs when switching between tabs into eclipse.
The problem seems to disappear if compiz desktop effects are switched off.
This is the header of the error log. For further details you can see the
attached file above.
This is the message appearing on the alert windows as the crash occurs.
