Public bug reported:

Hi,

This is a very strange bug : my pointer is "dancing". Basically, it
quakes horizontally with from 10 to 40 pixels length. While the pointer
quakes, i can't move vertially the pointer using the touchpad. I have it
since tribe 3 or so. I can't remember exactly which upgrade i did
before. I do not know how to reproduce that bug.

I'm running a MacBook with horizontal and vertical touchpad scroll
enable (via Xorg.conf and via gnome-mouse-properties). I have a
bluetooth mighty mouse. Having it disable does not make this bug
disappear.

I suspect this is an instability in synaptic driver. But i do not know
how to track this bug.

Do you have a clue of the origin of that bug ?

Kind regards,
Étienne.
