Well, I forgot to mention this, I found out some time ago that if I delete fd
and fd0 (which are made again every session/startup) that it will work
normally. Now I took out my floppy disk 2 days ago and it still keeps creating
fd and fd0.
So while typing this I realized that I can perhaps edit

running "sudo gparted" in a console?

Okey, I have attached dmesg to this post but I can't find the syslog thing,
where is it stored ?
Also, I don't have any idea how the dmesg is going to help you.
PS. this is from a 7.10 installed version, I hope it didn't need to be
from the liveCD

Gusty still has some of the debugging code in it, we could use the output of
syslog and dmesg to diagnose if this is another issue altogether. You can
simply attach those files to this bug report.
