I also have this problem. It just happens with RC version of Gutsy for
me. I uses SCIM as well. Any fix available yet?

I now observed that sometimes, in a KDE application (Kate), only a newly
opened dialog causes the keyboard to stop working. If I close that
dialog immediately and open it again, the keyboard works normally again.
So it's something window-based that causes the keyboard to stop working.

I can confirm this. I've been running Ubuntu Feisty until recently,
where I used SCIM (+ KMFL). The problem only appeared in aMSN there
(once in a few days). In the last few weeks, I switched to Kubuntu Gutsy
and currently, this problem appears so often it's annoying (once an hour
or so).

I have a Dell 9200C, which uses Intel 965 chipset (integrated video). I
updated bios to version 2.4 from dell today. I am using Dell Deluxe 104
keys keyboard.
