Public bug reported:

Sometimes X fails to start and boot process gets stuck at splash screen.
The occurrence of the bug seems completely random but after the first
failure to load X i need to hard shutdown the system and a few
subsequent restarts results in same failure. After few restarts the
system boots again and gets me to login screen and after a while the
whole story repeats.
