patch, compiled and installed to 14.04 which has version 1.17.3-1. Newer
version works fine.

The mentioned patch by Joe Clifford (joeclifford) seems to be OK. I've
downloaded source of pidgin-sipe (with apt-get source), also I applied
the patch. After building a deb package and installing everything worked
again with Ubuntu 15.04 (32 bit).

This bug most likely affects all previous versions of pidgin-sipe, it
certainly affects Ubuntu Vivid 15.04 pidgin-sipe-1.18.2.

apply cleanly to Ubuntu Vivid 15.0
