I was unable to follow Leann's suggested method to test the fix because my motherboard died and when I got my new motherboard I did a fresh install of mythbuntu hardy 8.04 beta. I can report that I don't have any trouble with firewire recording on my new setup. I suggest marking this as "Fixed" f
