I had this exact same problem after a brand new install of Ubuntu 8.10
64 and the latest svn of mythtv.I finally got it to work by going
into mythvideo / watch movies and hit M to change the view. I think I
pick file view - don't recall - but that appeared to do the
trickcost me most of

Bugs,
I too am having this problem. I recently updated my install and now can
no longer see any of my videos.
Although if I go into Settings/Media Settgins/Videos Settings/General
screen 2 and enable:
Video Browser browses files
Video Gallery browses files
Video List browses files
