I have downgraded from proposed , several packages have been downgraded
including the following
(maybe related on what you said)
warning: downgrading gir1.2-packagekitglib-1.0 from 0.9.5-0ubuntu1 to

could you "sudo apt-get install libpackagekit-glib2-16/wily
gir1.2-packagekitglib-1.0/wily" and see if that resolves it

I'm using them in purpose. That's a testing system in order to report bugs,
could you give the output of "dpkg -l | packagekit"?
there was a buggy/incompatible version in wily-proposed, which didn't
migrate to wily and got deleted, but if you are using wily-proposed you
maybe got it...
(you shouldn't use proposed on devel version, it's not an user archive
it's made for p

I think that traceback info may we useful for the right person.
I have learned that -proposed should normally *not* be enabled on
development installs, but rather enabled temporarily when you know what
you are doing. Possibly an explanation...

Unfortunately terminal had zero output during the execution of command
(gnome-language-selector) , despite that the error message appeared.

I had some output in keyboard interrupt (Ctrl+C) but I'm not sure if
it's relevant with the error message.

I wasn't able to reproduce the problem on a newly installed and updated
Ubuntu wily amd64. Can you please start Language Support from a terminal
window (command: gnome-language-selector) and let us know the terminal
output from a failed attempt to install the missing
